About the Artist

Art to me is a Spiritual outlet, that takes us deep within, to creatively express ourselves

outwardly, visually, interpreting our inner visions to share with those around us.

 

Having owned and operated a dog gallery and boutique for 18 years in Rockport, Massachusetts, my return "home" to Vermont has been a magical experience....Vermont is where I belong!

Art has taken me on a journey, a path, experimenting with an array of art forms, styles, mediums and subjects, many from nature.  

From formal classes in Jewelry fabrication and design, as well as wax sculpting and lost wax casting,  to years spent on the art of calligraphy and sign making, along with delighting in the creative process of decorative painting....on furniture, canvas floor cloths, walls, stairs and sometimes incorporating both, lettering on painted shapes and forms.

Having "played" with a variety of mediums and styles, I found sculptural wall reliefs, creating shapes and textures built up with plaster on board or wood cutouts for a 3-dimensional wall piece. 

Shaping canvas into painted decorative wall art is another means of creating a sculptural effect.

Discovering oil paints as a medium, most recently has lead me to producing pet portraits.  I now take on oil on canvas pet portrait commissions, an appropriate passion for an animal-loving, crazy dog lady!

I will always be in awe of the endless choices we as artists have to explore.  I admire all who have the courage and inhibitions to spread their wings and conceive a visual that has never been seen before.
